Editing process

All manuscripts submitted to journals listed in the Index Copernicus are reviewed by two independent reviewers (however, this may differ slightly between individual journals). All steps of the reviewing process are described on websites of the respective journals.

Manuscripts are accepted for publishing or declined by the Editor based on completed reviewing forms. The opinions of the reviewers as well as the Editor’s decision are sent to authors. At the discretion of the Editor, a manuscript can be declined in spite of favorable reviews.

Articles accepted for publication are corrected for spelling and language errors, and go through DTP typesetting. Final articles are sent to authors for acceptance and then published online on journal websites.

Reviewing of manuscripts

All submitted manuscripts go through a screening process and only those selected are sent to reviewers. Each article is reviewed anonymously by two reviewers with different affiliations than the authors' (double blind review).

Reviewers cannot be co-authors of manuscripts they review, neither can they be affiliated to the same institutions as the authors.

Reviews are provided in writing and contain a final conclusion as to accept the article for publication with or without further corrections or to decline it.

Upon reception of reviews, the secretary of the editorial board sends the reviews, together with the final decision in respect of publication (made by the editorial board), to the authors.

Ghostwriting and Guest Authorship

We declare that all cases of scientific fraudulence such as plagiarism, ghostwriting, or guest authorship will be exposed and reported to appropriate authorities (author’s employer, scientific societies, societies of scientific editors etc.)

Ghostwriting is a situation in which some authors who contributed substantially to an article are not disclosed. Guest authorship (honorary authorship) is a practice of granting authorship to people who have not contributed or contributed in an insignificant way to an article (source: https://pbn.nauka.gov.pl/).

Taking into account the well-being of experimental animals, the Editor reserves the right to decline a manuscript in case study protocols do not comply with commonly accepted standards for animal studies.
